We offer you a one of kind product, build by Niek and Pieter in the Netherlands. We only use the best materials and by building and finishing each boom ourselves we ensure a consistency in quality. Something very important when building the lightest and most comfortable boom in the world.

With this boom being the subject of Niek’s graduation project during his master theses, a full fiber analysis and fiber optimization done to find the best balance between stiffness and weight. With the Finite Element Methode 50 different fiber layups where created and evaluated to find the one most suited to the windsurfing boom. Together with the best materials available we are able to deliver the best (lightest and most comfortable) boom on the market.

Two Bodies

Pro+Boom+Original+vs+Widebody.jpg

Two bodies.

We now offer two different bodies. Both with the same great construction and weight but for two different purposes.

The Original, is the body we have had since the launch, it is a body that can do it all. The boom features the 30mm grip diameter measured including the boom grip. This boom has the ideal outline and tapers to offer the best handling for slalom sailing, specially on smaller/medium boards. We believe this is the most comfortable boom on the market. It is stiff and light, all while offering great handeling.

The Wide, is to compensate for what we were missing in the original when foiling or when sailing the bigger sails. The added benefit that the PROBOOM wide gives to the rider is a more efficient stance that is ideal for light wind slalom and especially foil sailing. Compare to the original there is a slight compromise in the handling. This compromise is due to the fuller curve in the front of the body in combination with the extended taper, bringing a slightly bigger tube diameter further back onto the body. This compromise is hardly noticeable on bigger sails as you hold the boom further back, the added benefit is a gain in efficiency and stiffness. The main body tube diameter is still the comfortable 30mm measured including the boom grip.

See video explaining the differences in the video below.

Three Tail-End options

Small tail-end (120mm) for speed boards and very small slalom boards with sails up to 5.6m.

Medium tail-end (170mm) for high and medium wind slalom boards for sails from 5.6 to 8.6m.

Large tail-end (210mm) for light wind boards with sails from 8.6 and up.
